During the summer of 1995 after Receiving a Master’s in Teaching from Seattle University I began teaching Art Lessons in a single bedroom apartment. I would move our kitchen table into the “living room” area to accommodate my students, this was exciting and fun, but a little cramped. When my husband and I bought our first house we were so excited to have an 8x8 studio as part of our large downstairs family space. One student at a time, I enjoyed teaching, helping and inspiring students of all ages in Visual Arts. I was in my element, creating and helping others do the same. From drawing to clay to tribal masks, lots of innovation and experimentation happened in that downstairs space, that couldn't be contained in the “designated” 8x8 studio.
Fast forward 10 years, my dream was realized when we were able to plot an area on our new property in Maple Valley for my very own Art Studio! Tenth Muse Studios is now a two building space dedicated to inspiring all ages to create, have fun and even overcome fears of art. Where you can relax, make something all your own, with your own hands and revel in the process of doing it. I believe everyone is creative and can create. Come and enjoy some time at Tenth Muse Studios, where there’s “A little bit of Art for Everyone.”
When you come to Tenth Muse Studios it’s all about you; you’re the star, you’re the explorer, and you’re the artist. I am simply your muse and your guide to infuse your creativity with excitement and support. You will feel safe to take risks here and to play without judgement.
In addition to your unique experience in the studio, the artwork that is purchased from the studio, will bring a sense of wholeness and wonder into your life. Because each piece I create is unique and made from the soul, it can provide you with a sense of familiarity and connection as is the case with any handcrafted piece.
